99.9% of the time, you WILL receive the part number you ordered. However, there are instances when manufacturers identify improvements that can be made to the original part and update the part immediately to ensure the best performance from their product. When we place our orders for part numbers that have been updated, the suppliers almost always send the updated part number to our warehouse.
If the part has been updated, there is a reason. But I liked the old part. This new part is a little different. We get it, and I can honestly tell you since I was an appliance service technician, sometimes I wish they'd leave stuff alone. But, these engineers and manufacturers are constantly and methodically testing their appliances to ensure the maximum amount of use for the consumer.
That leads to improvements, updated part numbers, and sometimes a change in installation procedure. Although this rarely happens, it DOES happen and even the most seasoned of technicians have to put on their thinking cap... Compare and identify the changes and improvements...And recognize if there is any retrofitting or altered installation procedure. And sometimes they do not. Please remember to reach out to us. If you have any issues or something doesn't look right. We have access to a lot of information, but we do not receive notifications on most part number updates. As I stated earlier, if we order a part number from 1982 that's been updated a dozen times... We will receive the most updated version and updated part number.
